WhatsApp come up with 2 new feature for it’s Android Beta users. Voice chats are a new way to start a group audio call without ringing everyone’s phones. WhatsApp beta has added two new features for Android users. Voice chats and Admin review. The features were spotted by WhatsApp Beta. Let’s take a look at what the two new features are about.
Voice Chats
Voice chats are a new way to start a group audio call. The feature was first spotted under development to start a voice chat, simply tap the waveform icon in the group chat. This will create a voice chat that other group members can join. Unlike a regular group voice call, voice chats won’t ring your phone all group members will see a push notification instead.
Once a voice chat is started, group members can join and speak just like a regular audio call. Idle calls will be closed automatically after an hour. It seems that WhatsApp existing call limits will also apply to voice chats, it means only 32 members can join chat at a time.
Admin Review
The admin review feature is now a new way for group members to report messages to admins for review. To use this feature, simply tap the three dots in the top right corner of the group chat and select “Send for admin review.” This will send the message to the group admin, who can then decide whether to delete it or not.
The admin review feature could be helpful for moderating large groups, where it can be difficult for admins to keep track of all the messages that are sent or not. It could also be used to report messages that are offensive or inappropriate. Both of these features are currently available in the WhatsApp beta for Android. It is not yet clear when they will be rolled out to the stable version of the app.
